TITLE IX

Campus Safety Policies & Procedures, & Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs, including athletic programs or activities that receive federal funding.

Title IX states that "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." Under Title IX, discrimination on the basis of sex can include sexual harassment, rape, and sexual assault.

In accordance with federal law and in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, Â鶹´«Ã½¸²Ãð¼Ç's Title IX Coordinator is the designated agent of the University with primary responsibility for overseeing University Title IX compliance efforts.
